Mr. Lopez has over 25 years of experience in the natural resources sector, with a strong focus on mining and mineral exploration within Latin America and Eurasia. From 2015 to mid-2018 he served as Executive Chairman at Southern Pioneer Resources, a private Canadian mineral exploration company with silver and copper projects in Chile. Prior to that, Mr. Lopez served as President and CEO of Aegean Metals Group, where he successfully led the senior exploration team that discovered the Hot Maden project in Turkey. Hot Maden is a high-grade gold asset, with an NPV of approximately $1.4 billion.
A founding partner and the former CEO of AQM Copper Inc., Mr. Lopez successfully managed the acquisition and development of the Zafranal copper and gold deposit in Southern Peru, which resulted in the acquisition of AQM Copper Inc. by Teck Resources Limited in November of 2016. Prior to these positions, Mr. Lopez acted as director of Centenario Copper Corporation from 2004 to 2009.
Mr. Lopez holds a Law Degree from Universidad Gabriela Mistral in Chile and a Master’s Degree in International Commercial Law from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He holds a Diploma in Marketing from UC Berkeley and is also a candidate for a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from Universidad de Chile and Curtin University of Perth (Western Australia). A member of the Chilean Bar Association and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Mr. Lopez was named a member of the Board of Advisors of Mines and Money Americas in 2016.
With over 21 years of accounting experience, Dave Cross is the CFO of New Energy Metals and a partner of Cross Davis & Company LLP; an accounting firm focused on providing excellence in accounting and management services for publicly traded companies.
Prior to his position at Cross Davis & Company LLP, Mr. Cross served as manager for Davidson & Co., a leading Vancouver accounting firm specializing in the mining sector and one of the largest public auditors in Canada.
Mr. Cross holds a Diploma in Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (B.C.I.T.), where he specialized in advanced accounting. In 2004, Mr. Cross received his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation from Canada’s Certified General Accountants Association (CGA-Canada).
Mr. Schauss has over 20 years of experience in sales and business development, with a strong focus on the integration of EV infrastructure in both residential and industrial areas. He has served in product management and business development roles for several companies regarding semiconductors, integrated circuits, and other electronic goods.
Prior to his current role as an independent consultant, Mr. Schauss held a position as Head of Sales for Gildemeister Energy Storage GmbH, Austria — world-leader in the development of vanadium redox flow batteries.
Mr. Schauss earned his MSc. Physics from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germany.
Ms. Earle is a geologist and also participates on the Board of Directors. Owner & Founder of K. Earle Consulting, a private Vancouver-based firm specializing in investor relations and corporate development for junior mining and technology companies, Ms. Earle has over a decade of experience in the mining sector.
From 2016 to present, Ms. Earle has served as Vice President of Communications for Skeena Resources, a junior Canadian mining exploration company focused on base metal properties. During her time as VP, she has assisted the company with over $50 million in capital raises. Prior to this, she served as Investor Relations Manager for Aegean Metals Group, where she assisted in successfully raising capital for the company’s exploration projects.
Ms. Earle holds a BSc in Earth & Ocean Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a Certified Professional Investor Relations (CPIR) designation from Western University’s Ivey School of Business. She is an Industry Advisory Board Chair for the Centre for Advanced Subsurface Earth Resource Models (CASERM), and a member of the Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology (SCWIST) and Women in Mining (WIM).
In 2018, Ms. Earle became a founding member and advisor of the British Columbia Regional Mining Alliance (BC RMA), a partnership between First Nations, industry, and provincial government designed to foster ethical mining investment in northwest BC.
Mr. Henricksen is the chief geologist for New Energy Metals and Founder and CEO of Plan B Minerals, now Forte Copper; a mineral exploration company focused on a high-grade gold-copper asset in Peru. With five decades of experience he has successfully worked on 40 mineral exploration projects in over 14 countries on 6 continents, including fieldwork for New Energy Metals, for which he also serves as an advisor.
Among his career highlights, Mr. Henricksen served as Vice President of Exploration for Aegean Metals Group in 2012, leading the senior field team in identifying, evaluating and acquiring 2 high-grade gold-copper prospects (VMS Hot Maden and Ergama) in Turkey. In early 2019, Mr. Henricksen received the prestigious 2018 Colin Spence Award for International Exploration from the AME in British Columbia, principally for his role in the discovery of the Hot Maden deposit. In 2004 Mr. Henricksen was the initial project manager and Chief Geologist for Norsemont during the early evaluation of the Constancia deposit in Peru, now in production with HudBay. In 2005, Mr. Henricksen evaluated and led the acquisition team and initial drill program for the Zafranal porphyry copper-gold deposit for Apoquindo Minerals (AQM). AQM initially won the tender from Teck who has backed into the project, which contains more than 400 million tons of copper ore.
Mr. Henricksen holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Wisconsin, and a PhD in Economic Geology from Oregon State University.
Mr. Perez-Walker is a lawyer and advisor to the board of New Energy Metals. Currently serving as an advisor to French multinational Engie (formerly GDF Suez), a utility company with a focus on the emerging renewable energy market, Mr. Perez-Walker has over three decades of experience in the energy sector.
A former Senator for Chile’s National Renewal political party, Mr. Perez-Walker served as a member of Chile’s Foreign Relations Senate Committee and held the position of chair to the country’s Mining and Energy Senate Committee from 1996 to 2002. During this period, he also served as an advisor to the boards of SQM, Compañia Minera Carola, and SONAMI (the National Mining Society of Chile). Since 2013, he has served as a member of Chile’s Energy Committee.
Mr. Perez Walker holds a law degree and Master of Science in Development Studies with a major in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, validated by the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
Ms. Ritchie is an administrator and corporate secretary for New Energy Metals. Currently serving as corporate secretary to five Vancouver-based junior exploration companies, Ms. Ritchie has over 25 years of experience and specializes in resource-based exploration companies.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Ritchie served from 1992 to 2003 as corporate secretary for Ascot Resources Ltd, Brett Resources Inc., Golden Band Resources Inc., Hyder Gold Inc., Leicester Diamond Mines Ltd., Loki Gold Corporation, Oliver Gold Corporation and Solomon Resources Limited.
